Who it fits

Key specs explained

Storage Capacity: 4TB

This drive holds four terabytes of data. You can store thousands of high-resolution photos, hours of 4K video, or large game libraries. This capacity suits users who need to back up entire hard drives or carry massive media files for editing. It offers more space than typical 1TB or 2TB portable SSDs, reducing the need to manage multiple storage units.

Interface: USB 3.2 Gen 2x2

This interface provides a wider data path than standard USB 3.2 Gen 2. It allows for higher bandwidth, enabling the drive to reach its top speeds. You need a compatible port on your computer or phone to use this feature. If your device only supports standard USB 3.2, speeds will be lower. This spec ensures maximum performance when paired with the right hardware.

Max Read Speed: Up to 2000MB/s

This speed determines how fast the drive can retrieve data. At 2000 megabytes per second, you can open large files or launch applications quickly. It is roughly four times faster than standard USB 3.2 Gen 2 drives. This benefits video editors transferring raw footage or gamers loading assets. It significantly reduces wait times compared to older SATA-based external drives.

Max Write Speed: Up to 1800MB/s

This speed controls how fast you can save data to the drive. At 1800 megabytes per second, copying large files happens rapidly. You can record 4K ProRes video directly to the drive without dropping frames. This is crucial for content creators who need reliable, fast write performance. It ensures smooth workflows when handling heavy data loads, unlike slower portable drives.

Slim Aluminum Build and Layout

The listing describes an aluminum alloy shell that provides a metallic finish. This material choice aims to offer scratch and drop resistance while helping with heat dissipation during heavy use. The drive measures 3.82 inches in length, 2.45 inches in width, and just 0.36 inches in thickness. It weighs 1.9 ounces. This slim, lightweight form factor allows you to slip it into pockets, bags, or purses without adding bulk. It is designed for mobile use during commutes or travel.

A unique feature is the built-in magnetic structure. According to the listing, this allows the SSD to adhere firmly to compatible devices. This design helps prevent accidental slipping or dropping while you are moving around. It ensures the connection remains stable during data transfers. The included USB-C cable stores directly on the back of the unit. This keeps the cable with your drive and reduces the risk of losing it. There are no visible buttons or switches mentioned in the specifications. The device relies on plug-and-play functionality for operation. The minimalist layout prioritizes portability and secure attachment over complex controls. You get a simple, compact drive that focuses on easy carry and reliable connection stability for on-the-go storage needs.

Setup and everyday use

You do not need special software to use this drive. The listing states it supports plug-and-play operation. You simply connect the included Type-C cable to your computer or phone. The cable stores directly on the back of the drive, so it stays with your unit. This design helps prevent loss during travel. The drive is widely compatible with multiple devices. You can use it for daily commuting, business trips, or outdoor data backup. The magnetic suction feature allows the drive to attach firmly to compatible surfaces. This setup helps prevent accidental slipping or dropping while you move around. You can rely on it for continuous data transmission without displacement risks. For video creators, the drive supports 4K ProRes HDR recording. You can connect it directly to an iPhone 15, 16, or 17 Pro model. This lets you record videos straight onto the drive without extra transfers. It serves as an essential tool for vloggers and photographers. The high-speed interface handles large file batches efficiently. You can transfer HD videos, large games, or massive document sets quickly. The drive shows full capacity on macOS. Windows users may see a slightly lower number due to unit calculation differences. This is normal and does not affect storage. The aluminum shell helps dissipate heat during these transfers. You can trust the drive to handle your media files reliably. It fits easily into pockets or backpacks thanks to its slim profile. You get a straightforward, no-fuss experience for mobile storage needs.

Before You Buy This Drive

You should verify your host device supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 to achieve the listed 2000MB/s read speeds. Many older ports cap at lower rates, so check your computer or laptop specifications first. If you plan to use this with an iPhone 15 or newer for ProRes HDR recording, ensure your model is compatible, as this feature is specific to recent Apple devices. The included Type-C cable stores on the back, reducing loss risk, but carrying a backup cable is wise for travel. Keep the aluminum shell clean to maintain its heat dissipation benefits. This drive fits users needing large, fast portable storage. It differs from internal NVMe drives by offering external convenience without the need for installation. It suits photographers and travelers more than desktop builders who prefer internal SATA or NVMe solutions for fixed setups.

Check before you buy

• Confirm your device supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 for full speed.
• Check iPhone compatibility if you plan to record ProRes HDR video.
• Verify the included cable fits your current ports.
• Ensure you have space for the slim 0.36-inch profile.
