Who it fits
Good fit for
This drive suits video creators who shoot 4K ProRes content on iPhone 15 or newer models. The magnetic snap-on design keeps the drive secure while you record. Users with USB4 or Thunderbolt computers will benefit from the high transfer rates. If you need portable storage that attaches directly to your phone without bulky cables, this setup works well. The durable aluminum body also protects your data during travel.
Who should skip it
You should look elsewhere if you use an older iPhone without MagSafe support. The magnetic feature requires compatible devices to function as intended. If you need a drive with a standard USB-C cable connection only, this might feel restrictive. Users who require more than 4TB of space will find the maximum capacity limiting. Those who prefer larger, desktop-sized drives may find the 2.36-inch form factor too small for their workspace.
Verdict: The Oyen Digital Helix Mag40 4TB USB4 delivers fast, magnetic-connected storage ideal for iPhone video creators. Its compact aluminum build and high speeds make it a practical tool for mobile workflows.
